“Black and Blue” compie 50 anni esce una ristampa con live

Quasi cinquant’anni dopo la sua uscita originale, i ROLLING STONES sono pronti a celebrare il loro rivoluzionario album del 1976 “Black and Blue “con un cofanetto “Super Deluxe”, in arrivo in tutto il mondo il 14 novembre 2025, pubblicato da Universal Music.

Originariamente uscito nell’aprile del 1976, Black and Blue, ritorna oggi remixato e ampliato in più formati.

Il cofanetto in vinile da 5 LP e quello da 4 CD includono anche un disco Blu-ray, un libro con copertina rigida di cento pagine ed una replica del poster del tour. La versione in edizione limitata di 5 LP in vinile marmorizzato nero e blu sarà disponibile solo sullo shop online di Universal Music. Ma ci sono anche i formati in Vinile (nero e zootropio), doppio vinile (nero e colorato), CD e doppio CD.

Black and Blue è il tredicesimo album in studio degli Stones, il primo dopo l’abbandono dell’ex chitarrista Mick Taylor, sostituito in seguito da Ronnie Wood. Le sessioni di registrazione vennero utilizzate notoriamente come audizioni con i grandi chitarristi Harvey Mandel, Wayne Perkins, Jeff Beck e Robert A. Johnson. Alla fine, libero da impegni con i The Faces, fu Ronnie Wood che si unì a Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts e Bill Wyman come un vero e proprio Rolling Stone, contribuendo alla realizzazione di 3 brani dell’album Black And Blue. Poco dopo Ronnie firmò ufficialmente per il tour statunitense della band, iniziando quella che sarebbe stata la sua permanenza con il gruppo per ben cinque decenni, con diversi album dal vivo e in studio, oltre a numerosi e leggendari tour mondiali. In una nuova intervista, riportata nella confezione del nuovo cofanetto, Ronnie riflette sull’essersi unito alla band nel 1976 con queste parole: “Decisamente è dove sono destinato ad essere”.

Musicalmente, Black and Blue ha messo in mostra lo spirito avventuroso dei Rolling Stones unendo reggae, funk e soul al caratteristico suono rock della band. Troviamo l’audace ‘Hot Stuff’, la trascinante ‘Hand of Fate’, la struggente ballata ‘Fool to Cry’, ‘Memory Motel’, la preferita dai fan e ‘Melody’ con il talento di Billy Preston. Black and Blue è stato il secondo album ad essere autoprodotto, a firma ‘The Glimmer Twins’, pseudonimo usato da Jagger e Richards per i loro ruoli di produttori. Al momento dell’uscita, raggiunse la vetta della classifica degli album più venduti negli Stati Uniti e vi rimase per quattro settimane consecutive, ottenendo il Disco di Platino. Ebbe un grande successo anche nel Regno Unito, arrivando al numero 2 già nel maggio 1976.

La ristampa Black and Blue 2025 include un disco con sei registrazioni inedite, tra cui la composizione di Jagger/Richards “I Love Ladies”, oltre a una energica versione di “Shame, Shame, Shame” di Shirley & Company. Sono incluse anche quattro jam strumentali degli Stones, tratte dalle session del 1975, con chitarristi ospiti.

Per accompagnare la ristampa, un nuovo video musicale per “Shame, Shame, Shame” sarà presentato in anteprima il 25 settembre, disponibile per la visione qui. Diretto dall’acclamato regista olandese Camille Boumans, il video è un collage della storia e della vera anima degli Stones, che unisce e amalgama rare fotografie d’archivio con animazioni disegnate a mano. Conosciuta per il suo pluripremiato lavoro con brand di fama mondiale e per la sua distintiva miscela di estetica classica e contemporanea, Boumans porta una nuova energia all’eredità degli Stones.

Imprescindibile per ogni fan degli Stones è la registrazione completa del concerto dal vivo della band: sei indimenticabili notti all’Earls Court Exhibition Centre di Londra, dove sono stati raggiunti sul palco dai musicisti Ian Stewart, Billy Preston e Ollie Brown.

Il disco Blu-ray contiene una trasmissione televisiva inedita dello spettacolo degli Stones del 1976 a Les Abattoirs di Parigi, oltre al mix in Dolby Atmos (sia dell’album in studio che del concerto). Tutti i contenuti audio sono disponibili anche in stereo ad alta risoluzione. Nel cofanetto Super Deluxe è incluso un libro con copertina rigida di 100 pagine ed un saggio attuale del noto esperto degli Stones Paul Sexton, oltre a fotografie esclusive catturate durante le session di registrazione dell’album, e del tour, ed una replica del poster del concerto di Parigi del 1976.
